Why I'm Running

I’m running for First Vice Chair because our State Party is at a crossroads - we can make North Carolina the best State Party in the country, but we can only do it with leaders who come from the communities we’re struggling to win, and who have experience winning tough campaigns. I’m running because I think I have what it takes to take our Party to the next level.

I got my start in politics working as an Organizing intern for Senator Kay Hagan in 2014, and since then I’ve worked on campaigns and in our party in battleground races in North Carolina, Missouri, Kansas, and Virginia. I’ve been an Organizer, a Campaign Manager, and everything in between. The work has always brought me back to North Carolina. I’m here to stay so that we can take our Party to the next level.

I’ve been a member of both the State Executive Council and Committee, President of NC Teen Democrats, and have worked on teams at the College Democrats. I know what it takes to serve and lead teams here in our state.

I’m an Organizer by trade. In this race, I plan to listen and learn about your priorities for how we can build an amazing State Party together. I don’t expect it to be easy - but I plan to win this race one vote at a time. If I have the chance to earn your support and trust, I’ll roll up my sleeves, be a team player, and do whatever it takes to help Democrats win in our state.

What's My Plan?

  1. Build a fair, transparent team that gets the job done: I’ve run a lot of teams - and when you’re building a team, you need honesty and a clear, transparent process. I’ll work with our Chair, Board, and Party staff to get our Party business done, and I’ll be fair and transparent in how I communicate with our entire Party. I’ll streamline communication with SEC Members and ensure that the Council of Review and Platforms and Resolutions Committee operate in the open.

  2. Strengthen auxiliaries: As a former Teen Democrats President, I know how important our auxiliaries and caucuses are, and how much work those auxiliaries do to organize for the issues we all care about. I’ll strengthen our auxiliaries and provide them with resources to organize.

  3. Fight for Rural Counties: I’m running because our Party needs to win back rural and working class voters if we want to win in this state. As a rural, working class kid myself, I’ll ensure our Party provides resources like training, staff support, and other tools to help rural Democrats win.
